Is there a secure way to get web access on an airplane?

More and more airlines are planning to or are already offering in-flight web access. For instance, JetBlue Airways offers limited email and instant messaging service for laptop users and some mobile phones on one model of its planes. American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Virgin America and Qantas all said they plan to do the same. In some cases, Internet access will be delivered through an aircraft’s entertainment service instead of passengers being able to use their own laptop or mobile phone to send email, for example.
